Extra spots left in the Sundance Film Festival class, session 2!  Read on for more info:

The Sundance Film Festival Workshop, a Dodge College of Film and Media Arts Interterm travel course (FTV 361/561), has spaces available.

This course, which is worth 3 credits, is taught at Dodge College and then on-location at the internationally-celebrated film festival in Park City, Utah! 10 – 12 students will travel there during the second half of the festival from Jan. 23 – 27. If you are interested in applying to this class, then e-mail your information to Professor Jeff Swimmer.

Here are the 5 questions you need to answer in your email 1) Name  2) Year in school  3) Major and emphasis  4) Cell phone and e-mail address  5) An essay (1 page, max) explaining why you are interested in attending the Sundance Festival and how you expect it to further your Dodge College studies and/or your future career.  Please specify your emphasis while at the festival: production, acquisitions/deals, marketing, film criticism, etc.  For example, you could approach your essay from the perspective of an indie director seeking the festival’s seal of approval, a documentary filmmaker seeking distribution, a screenwriter wishing to see top films from other countries, a publicist representing corporate sponsors, or a film critic planning to publish a blog about the festival.

If you are selected, a non-refundable deposit of $500 to hold your place will be due immediately.  Course fee will range between $2047 and $2252.
