We know, you’re sitting at home, so bored, because you’re not at Dodge this week. But do not fret, because here is a list of fantastic Thanksgiving films to help get you in the mood and hold you over before you come back next week!

A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving

There is one of these for every occasion, isn’t there? But, you can’t go wrong with the classics! The film follows Charlie Brown and his friends, as they attempt to have TWO Thanksgiving meals. Of course, hilarity ensues.

Miracle on 34th Street

Though famously a Christmas film, people often forget that it actually BEGINS on Thanksgiving, when Kris Kringle has to fill in for a very drunk Santa Claus during the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade!

The Big Chill

The plot focuses on a group of college friends who reunite after 15 years when one of their old friends passes away, and they join together on Thanksgiving.

Planes, Trains and Automobiles

Steve Martin and John Candy star as Neal Page, a high-strung marketing executive and Del Griffith,  an eternally optimistic, outgoing, overly talkative, and clumsy shower curtain ring salesman respectively. They share a three-day odyssey of misadventures trying to get Neal home to Chicago from New York City in time for Thanksgiving with his family.

Garfield’s Thanksgiving

A cat obsessed with over-eating who is forced on a diet during the holiday all about over-eating is bound to make for some trouble. This is another classic TV special, this one from the late 80s, that will have you feeling nostalgic.

Dutch

Dutch, played by Ed O’Neill, offers to drive his girlfriend’s pretentious son home from his Atlanta Prep School to Chicago for Thanksgiving, and an unlikely friendship is born.

Son in Law

Pauly Shore at the height of his “weasel-ness” on a farm for Thanksgiving. Enough said.

Addams Family Values

They’re creepy and their kooky. Although it doesn’t take place anywhere around Thanksgiving, the amazing summer camp play is one of the best sequences in cinematic history, hands down.

Grindhouse

Not the entire, four hour epic of a film from Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriquez…but the amazing fake trailer for “Thanksgiving” as directed by Eli Roth. It’s the perfect thing to watch for the holiday cheer.

Enjoy your time off, and we’ll see you after the break!
