Elite Challenged Athletes Share Their Stories With CES

On Tuesday, August 20th, US National Team Volleyball Payer Sean Rooney and elite runner Jami Goldman-Marseilles shared their inspirational stories of conquering adversity and competing at the highest level at the Challenged Athletes Foundation Fundraiser.

Sean Rooney
USA National Team Volleyball Player
Sean made his Olympic debut at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, China
helping Team USA to a Gold Medal. He was also a member of the 2012 US
National team in London. Sean has also played in professional leagues in
Siberia and Italy! Sean is an outside hitter for the US National Team.
Jami Goldman-Marseilles
Challenged Athlete
Jaime emerged from an unthinkable 11 days stranded in a car during a terrible
snowstorm in a desolate area of Arizona. Finally rescued by snow mobiler’s, Jami lost
both her legs due to frost bite. She turned to exercise to help in recovery and excel in
her new life. In 2001, Jaime became the only double amputee woman to compete in a
half marathon. Jami is also a teacher and author.
