One year ago, we lost a treasured member of the law school community—Professor Katherine Darmer. Professor Darmer was an excellent scholar and teacher. In addition, she devoted her amazing advocacy talents to a number of causes including marriage equality and human rights.

We are pleased to announce that a scholarship has been created in memory of Professor Darmer. One or more scholarships will be awarded this Spring to students who are interested in using their law degree to promote human rights and public interest law. Students may receive this scholarship for more than one year of their JD program.

Preference will be given to students who:

  • Are committed to maintain working in the public interest/human rights sector.
  • Are in good academic standing and have maintained a cumulative grade point average of 2.5.

Students interested in applying for this scholarship should pick up the application in the Financial Aid Office in Kennedy Hall, room 140 and return the completed form by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 8, 2013.
