Three Chapman University Dale E. Fowler School of Law alumni were elected into office in Orange County, California in the General Election on November 4, 2014. Kevin Haskins, Michael E. Gates and Kevin Muldoon will be sworn in to their new positions beginning on December 1, 2014. Fowler School of Law is proud to see the continued success of our alumni as they attain positions of leadership in Orange County and across the country.

Kevin Muldoon
(JD ’06)
was elected to the Newport Beach City Council. He ran against two opponents and secured more than 50% of the votes for his seat. Muldoon was an Orange County Deputy District Attorney, an intern in the White House Office of Strategic Initiatives, and was recently a collaborating attorney with the Claremont Institute Center for Constitutional Jurisprudence.

Michael E. Gates
(JD ’08)
was elected as Huntington Beach City Attorney. His previous legal experience includes clerking for the United States Department of Justice, the Orange County District Attorney’s Office, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. He also worked as an extern for Honorable Theodor Albert in the United States Bankruptcy Court, Central District of California.

Kevin Haskins
(LL.M. ’10)
 was elected as a judge in the Orange County Superior Court, earning 58% of the vote. Prior to his new role, he had worked for the Orange County District Attorney’s office as an assistant district attorney since 1986. Haskins completed the
LL.M. in Prosecutorial Science
and is currently an adjunct professor at Fowler School of Law.
