Research and Instruction Librarian Charlotte Daugherty joins Fowler School of Law

Chapman University’s Fowler School of Law recently welcomed Charlotte N. Daugherty as the newest research and instruction librarian to join the Hugh and Hazel Darling Law Library staff.
Daugherty comes to Chapman from the University of Pennsylvania Biddle Law Library, where she served as a reference librarian. Prior to that, she spent a dozen years in a variety of roles at the King County Superior Court in Seattle, and previously worked as a contract attorney in both the public and private sectors.
“Charlotte brings to this position vast experience from her work at the court, as an attorney, and as an academic law librarian,” said Sherry Leysen, director of the Darling Law Library. “We are thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Charlotte and to share her remarkable expertise with our faculty and students.”
At the Darling Law Library, Daugherty will work closely with the Fowler School of Law community, providing reference and research assistance to faculty and students, including teaching legal research skills in first-year Legal Research & Writing and Advanced Legal Research courses.
Daugherty holds a JD from University of Wisconsin Law School, an LL.M. from Universität Hamburg in Germany, and a Master of Library and Information Science from the University of Washington Information School. She was a Fulbright Scholar in Taipei, Taiwan at the Inter-University Program for Chinese Language Studies and can read and speak Mandarin Chinese and German.
