Chapman Law Alumnus Thomas Robichaux recently climbed the ladder to President of the Orleans Parish School Board.  Robichaux was elected to school board in 2008, despite being a gay Caucasian male in a state with few publicly gay individuals, and a voting district that is “overwhelmingly black,” according to an article on his election.  In his personal life, a few years ago Robichaux randomly bumped into a 17-year-old, who was looking for legal advice on becoming emancipated to get out of foster care, and ended up adopting him as a son.  Robichaux is quoted as saying, “I’m out to save the world — or my little piece of it.  When I die, I want the world to be a better place for me having been in it.”  Read more about it here.
