This fall, Chapman University Dale E. Fowler School of Law celebrated the naming of the Fritzie G. Williams Lecture Hall in honor of Fritzie Williams and her continued generosity to the law school. Fritzie recently donated $1 million in support of the Fowler School of Law.

Fritzie has been a supporter of the law school from the beginning. In 1995, she provided the
first law school endowment
– $250,000 for the Frank L. Williams Professorship of Criminal Law. The gift was made in honor of her husband, Frank L. Williams Jr., former head of the Orange County public defender’s office who died in 1981.

During a reception in her honor, Chapman University President Jim Doti said, “She has what I call verve, spirit and charisma. She brightens any room.” The same sentiment is shared by all Chapman University staff, faculty and students who have met Fritzie.
