- Richard E. Quintilone II (JD ’98) and Alis M. Rabet (JD ’13) of Quintilone & Associates succeeded in obtaining a $2.5 million judgment in the class action styled Ma v. Covidien Holdings, Inc. and a $900,000 judgment in the class action styled Nguyen v. Philips Electronics.
- Wes Miliband (JD ’05) recently spoke before a California State Senate hearing on behalf of a municipal water district he represents.
- Rachel Tallon Reynolds (JD ’05) (formerly Pickens) was named a “Rising Star” in the SuperLawyers Top Women Attorneys in Washington edition (2014).
- Steven P. Ruden, Ph.D. (JD ’05) partner, Knobbe, Martens, Olson & Bear is now on the Fowler School of Law Board of Advisors. Steven co-published “Three New Tools to Challenge Patents” in the Orange County Business Journal.
- Antoinette Naddour Balta (JD ’06) published an article on Penal Code 1170.9 with Justice Eileen C. Moore in the April 2014 issue of the Orange County Lawyer.
- Brad Kuhn (JD ’06) was promoted to partner at the Irvine office of Nossaman LLP. He co-authored “Ruling may put the brakes on some CEQA investigations” in the Daily Journal with Rick Rayl, another partner at Nossaman LLP.
- Tom Pokladowski (JD ’06), director of the Law & Finance unit at the University of California Irvine Extension was appointed to the American Association for Paralegal Education.
- Benjamin Z. Rubin (JD ’06) was promoted to partner at the Irvine office of Nossaman LLP.
- Ben Phillips (JD ’08) was named a “Rising Star” in the SuperLawyers Southern California edition (2014).
- Brian Snyder (JD ’08) and his wife Amy had their first child in September 2014. Brian was named a “Rising Star” in the SuperLawyers Southwest edition (2014).
- Steve Napolitano (B.A. ’03 and JD ’09) co-founded an Orange County brewery, Bottle Logic Brewing in Anaheim with two friends. Steve handles administrative duties as President.
- Brett Ramsaur (JD ’09) co-authored Snell & Wilmer Law Offices supplement, “The Dodd-Frank Act Amendments and Creation of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau: Major Changes to Financial Services Industry” in the Orange County Business Journal with Eric Pezold, partner, Snell & Wilmer.
- Charles Lee fka Charles Alikin (JD ’09) joined Tressler LLP as an associate in January 2015.
- Christian McGuigan (JD ’10) was featured in the Orange County Register Chapman Alumni section article “Making a Difference through Social Justice Films” in April 2014. Christian says his work in the Entertainment Law Clinic led to a position in a global entertainment company.
- Christina Nahas (JD ’11) started at Bruce Lee Enterprises with an externship, but is now the Director of Licensing and Business Affairs.
- Branigan Robertson (JD ’12) was named a “Rising Star” in the SuperLawyers Southern California edition (2014). He also published “How I Started My Own Law Firm Right After law School” whitepaper with Clio.
- Jason Armbruster (JD ’13) and his wife Dana had their first child, Everett, in March 2014.
- Harrison M. Brown (JD ’13) joins Blank Rome LLP as an associate in the Corporate Litigation group.
- Matthew Stong (JD ’13) and his wife had their first daughter in April 2014. Matthew and his daughter now share the same birthday.
- Maryam Abdulhaq (LL.M. ’14) and Nooria Sallam (LL.M. ’14), under the Public Private Partnership for Justice Reform (PJRA) in Afghanistan came to the embassy to meet with Ambassador Hakimi prior to their departure back to Afghanistan.
- Sheikh Rizwan Javeed (LL.M. ’14) became the first student at Chapman University’s Fowler School of Law to have his travel photographs displayed at the school’s Parham and Polly Williams Gallery. His story was featured internationally in his hometown publication GreaterKashmir.com.
