Two Chapman University Dale E. Fowler School of Law students will face off on Monday for the final round of the 2016 Rutan & Tucker Golden Gavel Competition. Students are selected as “best oralist” for the plaintiff and the defendant at the close of the weeklong annual competition. The final round serves as an opportunity for the winners to test their skills in front of a prestigious judge panel. The finalists will be determined after the semifinals rounds at the end of this week.

This year’s guest judges will be Judge Glenda Sanders, Superior Court of California; Justice David Thompson, California Court of Appeal; and John Hurlbut, Partner at Rutan & Tucker.

All students, faculty and staff are welcome to view the final exhibition in the Appellate Courtroom (KH 244) on Monday, April 18, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.!  Space is limited so be sure to arrive a few minutes early.
