Announced on April 30, 2021
Chapman University Fowler School of Law’s Diversity and Social Justice Forum is pleased to invite article submissions for its 2021-2022 Volume V publication.
The theme of this year’s publication is “Reviving Our Social Consciousness: Examining the Perpetual Inequities Faced by Minorities.” This past year, the pandemic has shed light on prevalent and pre-existing social inequities. From issues of police brutality, evictions on housing, inaccessibility to healthcare, and hate crimes and their effect on allyship, the Diversity and Social Justice Forum hopes to spread awareness about these issues and highlight ways in which we can effect change moving forward. We welcome any submissions of unsolicited legal manuscripts and articles that discuss social injustices and inequities toward minorities in light of the pandemic, including but not limited to any legal or humanitarian concerns, legal solutions and policies and movements to rectify injustice.
The Diversity and Social Justice Forum is focusing on this theme, but we are also welcoming all submissions on social justice issues. Our goal is to be able to serve as a resource for the community in shedding light on these issues. We welcome various viewpoints from law students, professors, attorneys, and legal professionals and would be honored to be able to publish the work of our legal community.
The Diversity and Social Justice Forum will be accepting articles from the period of May 1, 2021 to June 15, 2021. Any articles, papers, or manuscripts should fall between the range of 5,000–8,000 words (not including footnotes). Citations should conform to The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation. Submissions should be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org with a subject heading of: “[First and Last Name] – DSJ Article Submission 2021”
The editorial board of the Diversity and Social Justice Forum shall determine which submissions are selected. Once a submission is selected, the co-chairs will work with the author to prepare the submission for publication. Authors shall retain copyrights after publication.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact the Diversity and Social Justice Forum at email@example.com. We look forward to receiving your submission.
