Cookies and 24-hour Services are BACK at the Leatherby Libraries Stay up with us this finals season!
November 30, 2018
The Leatherby Libraries will be open 24 hours each day during the last two weeks of the semester:
Open from Sunday, December 2, 2018 at 8 a.m. and will not close until Friday, December 14, 2018 at 10 p.m.
During the late night hours, the following services will be available: circulation services, bookable study rooms, and print/copy services.
Public Safety will make rounds periodically throughout the night and the security monitor stationed in the Rotunda will also be on duty. Students using the library can contact Public Safety for an escort to their vehicles or back to the residence halls.
In addition to making the library available 24 hours a day, Leatherby Libraries will be offering the popular “Cookie Study Break” tables again this year. Students can find a quiet cookie table on floors 1, 2, and 3.
Starting from Sunday, December 9 to Thursday, December 13, there will be coffee available on the 1st floor. There will be two separate deliveries at 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., sponsored by the Student Government Association (SGA).
Whether you’re hitting the books late at night or during the day between classes, we know that students are on the hunt for quiet study spaces. We’ve put together a list of hidden spots to study in the Leatherby Libraries – from the open, collaborative space on the first floor to the silent reading rooms on the lower level.
Partnership with Power Crunch
This year, we’re happy to be collaborating with Power Crunch, whose bars, as well as vegan and gluten-free cookies and some healthy snack options will also be available at the circulation desk for students upon request. Chapman Alumna Kira Doting (Class of 2017), who currently serves as Senior Area Events Manager for Power Crunch, and current Chapman student Jordyn Bradbury (Class of 2020), who is the Chapman University Campus Manager for Power Crunch, brought mini-sizes of the delicious Power Crunch bars to help fuel students as they study for finals. Many thanks to Power Crunch, Kira, and Jordyn!
Good luck, Panthers, during this busy finals season!
