Celebrating LGBTQIA+ Pride Month at the Leatherby Libraries A virtual book display
June 3, 2021
In honor of National Pride Month, this June the Leatherby Libraries is happy to present a virtual display of titles that honor and provide understanding and education about the LGBTQIA+ community,* especially here at Chapman University. In previous years, the Leatherby Libraries has celebrated Pride Month with in-person book displays, as in 2015 and 2016. To celebrate this year, we’re delighted to put our new virtual exhibit and event knowledge to work to share a virtual book display that can be enjoyed by everyone from the Chapman University campus, both near and far.
This bibliography has been compiled by the Leatherby Libraries’ LGBTQ Studies librarian and David Carson, librarian and Interim Co-Chair of the LGBTQIA+ Staff and Faculty Forum at Chapman University. In addition to the titles listed here, more resources can be found in the LGBTQIA+ Studies Research Guide
This display is part of the Leatherby Libraries Diversity, Equity and Inclusion efforts in alignment with the Chapman University Strategic Plan for Diversity & Inclusion, fostering a diverse and inclusive campus climate.
*LGBTQIA+ stands for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and/or Questioning, Intersex, Asexual, and more. Although variations of the acronym are common, this is the most inclusive, and the one that is used throughout the display. Click here to learn more.
