Universities and colleges celebrate Pride Month every April, including Chapman University. In conjunction with Campus Pride Month, the Leatherby Libraries is pleased to offer access to the LGBT Magazine Archive from ProQuest.

LGBT Magazine Archive traces the history and evolution of myriad aspects of LGBT history and culture, including legal contexts, health, politics, social attitudes, activism, gay rights, and arts/literature. It includes the archives of 26 leading magazines covering LGBT interests, including notable titles from the United States and the United Kingdom (e.g., the entire run of The Advocate from the US and Gay News and its successor Gay Times from the UK).

This archive covers more than six decades of the LGBT community and the history of the gay rights movement, with some publications predating the 1969 Stonewall riots.

Please contact the Chair of Resources & Scholarly Communications, Kristin Laughtin-Dunker, at laughtin@chapman.edu or Sociology Librarian and Coordinator of Collection Development, Margaret Puentes, at mpuentes@chapman.edu for any questions.
