The Leatherby Libraries presents “Introduction to Data Literacy,” an online workshop on Thursday, November 16, 2023, from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Hosted by the Library’s Assistant Dean, Doug Dechow, and our Data Services Librarian, Andrew Greenman, this workshop will explore the emerging topic of Data Literacy, which is the ability to read, understand, create, and communicate data as information.

This introductory workshop will expose students, staff, and faculty to the critical concepts of Data Literacy, including understanding different data types, summarizing data, visualizing data, and critically evaluating how data can be used to mislead people. Attendees will learn to understand data sources and create meaningful narratives from data while gaining hands-on practice with data in Excel 365.
