The Leatherby Libraries is pleased to announce that Chapman University has joined a three-year read-and-publish agreement with Elsevier. This agreement allows Chapman-affiliated authors to publish their articles Open Access in Elsevier’s journals.

This read-and-publish agreement covers the Article Processing Charges (APCs) (i.e., Open Access publication fees) for Chapman authors with accepted research articles in applicable Elsevier journals during this three-year agreement from 2024-2027.

To be eligible, articles must:

  • Be accepted for publication in any of Elsevier’s 1806 hybrid journals or 685 fully/gold OA journals during the agreement term.
  • Have a submitting corresponding author affiliated with Chapman University (i.e., researcher, professor, adjunct faculty member, lecturer, graduate or undergraduate student).

This agreement will provide unlimited open access publishing in the eligible hybrid journals linked above and a capped number of articles in the fully/gold OA journals.*
