The Hoag Center for Real Estate and Finance at Chapman University will host the 2nd annual Home Ownership Day on its Orange campus, Saturday, March 29, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. The free educational event, which features 30 targeted sessions for maximizing real estate, is open to the public.

Topics, such as: down payment assistance, avoiding costly buyer mistakes, VA loans, foreclosure prevention, property management, the escrow process, getting started in real estate investing, and divorce and the family home are among the variety of sessions that are offered at the event. Industry experts such as lenders, credit improvement agencies and realtors will be on hand to answer questions.

“Our mission with this event is to educate the public on all aspects of buying or selling a home,” said Fadel Lawandy, director of Chapman’s Hoag Center for Real Estate and Finance.  “Bringing together experts to assist with navigating the often complex world of real estate for a free event is a great opportunity for the Orange County community.”

Kicking off the event at noon will be keynote speaker Steven Thomas, the Chief Economist at Reports on Housing. With more than 20 years of real estate experience, Thomas is considered an expert in real estate housing trends and will offer an update on the current pulse of the Orange County real estate market.

Major sponsors of the OC Home Fair include: The Orange County Register, the Young Professionals Network, and KCET.

While the event is free and open to the public, registration for the seminars is requested at:
