Sometimes, you just need to publish something quickly so there’s a page online with information for people to access. Sometimes, you want to publish something awesome, but it only need two sentences. This might be an updated time and location for an event, a faculty accomplishment or award, an intimate performance with a guest artist, or urgent news about student registration.

Announcement posts can be used for those times when the thing you need to publish isn’t a story and there is little to no imagery. Reserve your blog posts for larger stories and use announcements for smaller, well, announcements!

There are variety of icons to choose from to perfectly represent your announcement. These icons will appear next to your announcement’s title to help your audience identity the nature of the content.

Below are examples and best uses for Announcement Post-Types from across Chapman’s blog network.
