John Stewart BellThe Nobel Prize in Physics 2022 was awarded jointly to Alain Aspect, John F. Clauser and Anton Zeilinger “for experiments with entangled photons, establishing the violation of Bell inequalities and pioneering quantum information science”.  The Institute for Quantum Studies congratulates these scientists.  We are delighted that the Nobel committee has recognized their ground breaking work on the foundations of Quantum Mechanics that our Institute is dedicated to.

We will post more on this page about our members’ work on this topic soon, and plan to give a lecture on the topic of this Nobel prize.

The person featured in the image is John Stewart Bell (1928-1990), whose theoretical work provided the basis for the prize-winners’ key experiments and was also pivotal in the development of quantum information science.
