1st Annual DisAbility Summit

May 3, 2016

9 am – 12 noon

Musco Center for the Arts

Chapman University

The Thompson Policy Institute (TPI) on Disability and Autism is a new think tank that gathers data and develops its own independent research to study and, when appropriate, advocate on topics surrounding the issues of disability and autism.  Throughout each year, the TPI will produce research that results in policy recommendations to decision-makers at the local, state and eventually national levels.

The Institute’s Co-Founding Directors, Drs. Don Cardinal and Amy-Jane Griffiths, will present results of data analysis on the state-of-disability in the greater Orange County area and present a recent research report on Autism in the Workplace. A short discussion will follow the presentation on what we need to do next as a field toward benefiting children, adults, and families in this important area. Opening remarks by Chancellor Daniele Struppa and William Thompson.

TPI is partially funded by William S. and Nancy E. Thompson Foundation through a generous gift to Chapman University and the College of Educational Studies.

Large building at dawn.
