In just under a year, with the support of the California Educator Preparation Innovation Collaborative (CalEPIC), Saint Mary’s has developed and launched three successful, equity-centered teacher residency programs. These programs take a humanizing approach to diversifying the teacher workforce by recruiting candidates who represent the local community and break down financial and structural barriers by offering paid clinical experiences.
