Students Engage with Art and History at MOCA’s MONUMENTS Exhibition
April 23, 2026
The Escalette Collection of Art organizes semesterly field trips to galleries and museums throughout Southern California for its student workers, interns, and volunteers. These experiences are intended to complement their hands-on training with the Collection by expanding their understanding of museum practices and the broader art world.
This semester, in partnership with Wilkinson College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, the Escalette Collection invited all Wilkinson College students to visit MONUMENTS, an exhibition at MOCA. Co-presented by MOCA and The Brick, MONUMENTS examines the histories and enduring impact of the American Civil War, bringing together decommissioned monuments alongside contemporary artworks.
