Every year, the
Center for Global Education (CGE)
has an annual photo contest where we invite study abroad participants from the previous academic year who participated in semester programs, faculty-led travel courses, and summer international internships to submit photos from their travels.

We’ve all heard the saying a picture is worth a thousand words, but these photos are worth more than that. Each photo is a memory- it has the ability to take you to a far away place. For the photographer, it might even take them to a moment- that instant when they witnessed something beautiful and captured it on film.

The annual photo contest gives students the opportunity to share a moment from their time abroad. Our 2014 Photo Contest was administered through the
CGE Facebook page
. The categories for our photo contest this year included:

  • Scenery & Animals
  • Community Engagement
  • Daily Life & Food
  • Chapman Students Abroad

Students with a photo receiving the most Facebook “Likes” in each category won free admission to this year’s “
Lessons from Abroad Conference
.” Their photos will be displayed in the Student Union later this semester.

This year’s photo submissions are no different from those of the past- unique, beautiful, and moving.
