What is Turnitin?

Turnitin provides originality checking services, class management tools, and paperless digital grading products to educational institutions around the world.

What Does Turnitin Do?

Similarity Report: Submitted papers are compared for matches or similar text in Turnitin’s database. The database includes billions of web pages: both current and archived content from the internet, a repository of works students have submitted to Turnitin in the past, and a collection of documents, which comprises thousands of periodicals, journals, and publications.

PeerMark: Student submissions are assigned to peers for review based on a series of free response and scale questions created by the instructor.

GradeMark digital assessment: Student submissions are digitally marked and reviewed by the instructor in a paperless environment. Students are then able to view the results by logging into their Turnitin user profile.
