Dear Colleagues,

I’m pleased to share with you that we have two new tools in Canvas that will aid your productivity.  The first is the Atomic Search software that adds a Global Search bar to Canvas in the upper right-hand corner, which looks like this:

You and your students have access to this search function.

Next, we have added the “PantherBot” chat into Canvas, which you and your students can find in the left-hand navigation menu when you access Canvas through a web browser (this is not included in the mobile app).  This feature is in “beta” because the Bot is in a training mode to be able to better answer questions related to Canvas. So, do keep that in mind when you use this tool. You can use the Bot to help you with basic Canvas functionality as well as with Chapman-related questions.

Where to find PantherBot:

An example of a Q&A with the PantherBot:

Q: How do I copy my Canvas course from last semester?

And this is PantherBot’s response:screenshot of Pantherbot replyWe’d love to have you ask PantherBot any of your Canvas-related questions and let us know if it returns helpful responses.  We will work to improve PantherBot’s responses so it will be even more helpful over time.

I send you my wishes for a productive and efficient semester!

Best,

Jana Remy
