Rising entrepreneurs: Badoonga
May 7, 2012
This is a profile of rising entrepreneurs Charles Lee, Siddharth Ganji, & Christopher Ramirez of Badoonga.
Are you ever the last one to hear about an event? Badoonga and its founders plan to eliminate this issue. Currently in alpha phase, Badoonga is an online social-interest sharing calendar that aims to link people to nearby events and through its interface.
The Badoonga team consists of joint Chapman MBA/MFA Film TV Production students Charles Lee, Siddharth Ganji, and Christopher Ramirez. They come from very diverse backgrounds and have been united by a singular passion for entrepreneurship.
Under the direction of Dr. Richard Sudek, the Leatherby Center for Entrepreneurship accelerates invention through research and extensive collaboration. Through its many programs, students get linked to alumni, successful entrepreneurs, and potential investors. Leatherby Center’s eVillage provides amenities like conference rooms and office spaces to Chapman students. It also hosts partner organizations like K5 Launch and Tech Coast Angels.
Badoonga’s next step is to get Chapman University’s student organizations and nearby businesses to register and use its services, so that the team can test its aggregate event capabilities. Team Badoonga recently placed second in Chapman University’s Business Plan Competition, where they pitched to a panel of angel investors and competed for seed funding.
