LIFE AT CHAPMAN

How has your experience been throughout your time at Chapman University?

My Chapman experience overall has been fantastic for my personal and professional development. I have greatly enjoyed my time with the university and I am sad to see it come to an end.

What advice do you have for students looking to maximize their success while at Chapman University?

Don’t be afraid to ask for resources! Chapman University has so many resources available that allows students to explore all of their interests—whether that be artistic, academic, personal, and everything in between. I’ve found that if you are willing to do the work and ask for help, the school is very willing to find the help you need.

What has been your favorite part of your experience at the Argyros school?

I have really enjoyed the Master of Science in Real Estate program this year!

You’ve been so involved at Chapman. In what ways do you feel like that has helped?

Being so involved has strengthened my time management skills. Socially, it has allowed me to create a very strong and diverse network that I will be able to use throughout my personal and professional career.

IN THE MASTER OF SCIENCE IN REAL ESTATE PROGRAM

You’re currently in the inaugural MSRE (Master of Science in Real Estate) program. What inspired you to get your master’s degree?

I graduated in the class of 2020, which was in the peak of the pandemic when there was so much uncertainty, and everyone started to work from home. I thought this would be the best time to stay in school for another year and come out of this situation with a new skillset and career path.

Has your master’s degree changed your career path or goals?

It has! It has given me more direction on what I want my career to be. I was not involved in commercial real estate before this program and now I am employed full-time in the industry. The knowledge that I have picked up along the way in the MSRE program has helped me excel in my work environment

How has your master’s degree helped you grow?

My master’s degree has given me many new skills. I have become so much stronger at analysis and operations processes in the commercial real estate space which helped me to find and accept a full-time position at Primestor Development Inc., based in Culver City.

What has been your favorite thing about the MSRE program so far?

Aside from all-of the knowledge I’ve retained, my favorite part has been the other students in the cohort. Getting to know them inside and outside of the classroom has been amazing, and these relationships are forming into long-term friendships and business partners.

AFTER THE MASTER OF SCIENCE IN REAL ESTATE PROGRAM

When you’re not working or going to school, what do you like to do for fun?

I greatly enjoy writing and producing music in my home studio as well as PC gaming, working on my project car, and hitting the beach!

What career advice do you have for other students, or anyone, looking for an internship or a job?

Everyone should have high expectations and goals for their career, but it is important to approach the job application with a sense of humbleness and humility. Be willing to learn and be okay with not being the smartest person in the room.

What’s next career-wise now that you’re close to finishing your master’s degree in real estate?

I plan to learn and grow in my current position at Primestor Development Inc. I work in commercial property management and I plan to continue this position as long as possible. I am in the process of permanently relocating to west LA so that I can cut down my commute from Orange to Culver City.

Congratulations on your new role and on graduating as part of the inaugural Master of Science in Real Estate program. We can’t wait to see all that you will accomplish!
