The MBA Association threw together yet another successful event this past Saturday at the Angels Tailgate and Game. The event sold out and there was a perfect blend of student, alumni, and faculty in attendance. To top it off, the game even went into extra innings!

There was a slight spin on this event in comparison to the ones in the past. The MBA Board paired with a local charity, Working Wardrobes, to raise money and clothing donations for their cause. As stated in their mission statement, “Working Wardrobes empowers men, women, veterans and young adults overcoming difficult challenges to confidently enter the workforce and achieve success.” They help those in need with professional help; everything from resume critiques to interview attire and so much more. At the Angels event, the board decided to incentivize clothing and money donations by doing a raffle. A raffle ticket was exchanged for either money or clothing and that raffle ticket was entered into a drawing for a chance to win an assortment of prizes. Most of the prizes were graciously donated from local business such as: restaurant gift cards from Citrus City Grill, The Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, and Felix’s Cuban Cuisine, hand made jewelry made by Natalie McGlockin donated by My Creaky Stairs, and a gift basket donated from Youngs Market Company. It proved to be quite a success bringing in a whopping 131 pieces of clothing and $274 towards the cause! What an incredible turnout for a first time endeavor. However, this success could not have been made without all those who attended and donated.

On behalf of the board, thank you to all who attended and donated, it was a tremendously great turnout for The Argyros School. It was truly amazing to see what the panther family can do when we work together and take bold steps. Go panthers!

If you enjoyed this event or perhaps missed out on it, never fear, there will be plenty more to come. Make sure to save the date for the MBA Association’s next big event, MBA at Sea on Friday, May 9th. This one will be an end of the year celebration for students only and will be an event to remember! You do not want to be the one who misses this event. Stay tuned for a flyer and link update for you to purchase your tickets.
