Argyros College Climbs to No. 53 in U.S. News & World Report Rankings A 13-spot jump places Chapman's graduate business program among the top three private business schools in California

The 2026 U.S. News & World Report rankings of best graduate schools are out, and Chapman University‘s Argyros College of Business and Economics continues to be recognized among the nation’s top graduate business degree programs. This distinction places Argyros among the top three private business schools in California, underscoring its continued excellence and rising national profile.
“Argyros has risen faster in the rankings than any program in the country since 2017,” said Dr. Thomas Turk, Interim Dean of the Argyros College. The climb reflects the college’s sustained investment in faculty, curriculum, and student success — with the program now ranking 6th among private schools west of the Mississippi, and 3rd in California, trailing only Stanford and USC.
But the numbers that matter most may not be the rankings themselves. Argyros graduates are among the most sought after in the country, with the 3rd-best national placement rate for students securing jobs within 3 months of graduation.
“What I’m most proud of is our students being ranked 18th in the country among recruiters,” says Turk. “It’s a testament to the caliber of our faculty, the drive of our students, and the reputation we’ve built with the business community. When employers actively seek out Argyros graduates, that tells us we’re doing something right.”
