Food and Culture: An Italian Perspective Immerse yourself in the rich culture of Italy through talks and tastings with world renowned chefs
February 11, 2020
Calling all foodies, connoisseurs, and taste testers! Join us for a thought-provoking celebration of Italian food culture, featuring talks by influencers, scholars and chefs, and access to a tasting pavilion with the best from local Italian restaurants and food producers.
A lively schedule of presentations, conversations, and demonstrations will take you through the exploration of topics such as: the cultural complexities of the peninsula’s cuisines; the transformation of culinary traditions within the unique context of the Italian-American experience; the predominance of Italian food in today’s global media; and Italian food as the embodiment of a special relationship with nature, people, and history.
The event will take place at Chapman’s Musco Center for the Arts on Saturday, April 4th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with outdoor activities to follow. Tickets are $30 which include parking and tastings and can be purchased here on the Musco Center for the Arts website. A portion of your ticket will go to support Italian Studies at Chapman. You won’t want to miss out on this opportunity to hear (and taste) from some of the country’s top chefs!
