Chapman University is rehabilitating the existing historic Killefer School building, constructing a new lab building and transforming the landscaping at 541 N Lemon St. The construction work will involve both interior and exterior work and Chapman University will be in touch with regular updates to notify our surrounding neighbors of any potential impacts.

What is the timeline of the project?
The project will start on September 5th, 2023, with an anticipated completion date of December 31st, 2024.

What are the hours of the project?
Chapman is complying with all local ordinances and conditions of approval, including those related to noise. Construction hours will be Monday through Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Finish times may change, as needed, to keep the project on schedule.

How will deliveries be handled?
Deliveries will be scheduled after 7:00 a.m. Delivery trucks loading and unloading will be done on the site in the designated loading and unloading zone. Chapman does not anticipate any full street closures. However, partial street closures may be needed on N. Lemon St. and N. Olive St.

Where will construction workers park?
All construction workers will park on the Killefer property or in other Chapman University parking facilities.
