College of Performing Arts graduate William Lü will collaborate with talented Taiwanese filmmaker, Grace Peng, to establish a dance film workshop in Taipei, Taiwan, this summer. Chapman students have the opportunity to receive scholarships to attend this unique workshop. The duo will host a one-week workshop designed primarily for college students and aspiring professionals. The workshop promises to be fun and enriching, with participants coming from Taiwan and neighboring countries, including a mix of working professionals and recent graduates. Attendees will also have the chance to connect with accomplished Taiwanese dance curators and filmmakers, an invaluable opportunity for building their professional networks.

William Lü has been in the business of creating and filming dance from the time he graduated with his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance in 2002. Lü danced professionally for over 15 years in the USA and Europe before he relocated to Taipei, where he resides now. In Taiwan, he produces commercials, short films, and educational programs for cultural institutions such as the National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts. Additionally, he co-founded Crazy Family Productions in 2019. His film works have been screened at festivals such as Cinedans in Amsterdam, Scottish Dance Film Festival, Busan International Short Film Festival, Sandfly International Short Film Festival in Melbourne, San Francisco Dance Film Festival, Speechless International Film Festival, MECAL in Barcelona, among others.
