As we continue this holiday season it is helpful to keep in mind our gratitude for the opportunities we have and pay this forward by assisting others in need. Our students and faculty are certainly doing just that with great events here at Crean College!

Table with lots of donated foods.Students and faculty gathered yesterday afternoon in the Crean Hall Atrium at the First Annual Crean College of Health & Behavioral Sciences Harvest. The many participants enjoyed provided lunch, socialized, and donated to two great causes. The Harvest was created in order to give the Crean community the opportunity to assist surrounding communities and build a stronger unity between students, faculty and staff.  Netasha Pizano, the Crean College Student Representative from Chapman’s Student Government Association, who helped organize the event said, “This is an opportunity to build new relationships, create tradition, and to provide a service for other citizens in the Orange County Community.”

In great success, over 100 canned goods, packaged foods, and personal care items were donated to the OC Food Bank to assist families in need during the holidays! According to the OC Food Bank, “There are nearly 456,000 people at risk for hunger every month in Orange County. Hunger touches people of every age, race, ethnic group and neighborhood.” Collections were also taken for the clothing drive for SAVS, Sexual Assault Victim Services, sponsored by C.A.R.E.S. This drive collects items to be given to survivors, including children. More information on where and how to donate this week can be found below.
