The honorees are poet and songwriter Jonathan Butler (a past winner of Billboard's new artist award), playwriting and screenwriting MFA grad Stacie Craig and Chapman film school alum Gabriel Garza.
"Jonathan, Stacie and Gabriel are all incredibly talented writers, and we're thrilled to have them in the fellowship," said the program's exec director, Karen Kirkland. "The program gives us an opportunity to nurture those in our industry whose cultural experiences have traditionally remained underrepresented in television and film. We're excited that their voices and perspectives will be included."
The winners, who will be salaried for one year while receiving writing, pitching and networking experience, were chosen from among more than 1,000 applicants. Past fellowshippers have gone on to network and cable writing gigs.
