Tonight, Professor Jeff Swimmer’s International Documentary class, Destination: Africa, will screen its 2010 program, “Our Hopes, Our Future” in the Folino at 7PM.

The inter-disciplinary, international documentary program “Destination: Africa”, led by Professor Jeff Swimmer, sends students around the world with cameras to profile leading human rights and development organizations. Participating students are from the Dodge College of Film and Media Arts, the School of Law, and the Wilkinson College of Humanities and Social Sciences.

You can also view some past years’ films within the film showcase on our website, to get an idea of the awesome scope of the class, and the important international stories Destination: Africa shines a cinematic spotlight on.

Following the screening, we will host a reception featuring live African music and groumet food, in the lobby.

Additionally, the entire screening will be made available to view online via a live webcast on the Dodge College streaming channel.  Justin.TV provides free applications for the iPhone/iPad mobile platform, and Android smartphones.  The freedom to watch wherever you like is an exciting opportunity, although I would strongly encourage everyone who can, to attend the screening in person – not on your phone.  (You’ll make James Cameron angry.)
