Nicholas Ozeki (MFA.FP.DR/’08), is nominated for the Someone to Watch Award for the 2012 Film Independent Spirit Awards for his film Mamitas.

The nominations for the 27th Film Independent’s Spirit Awards were announced this morning in Los Angeles, with “The Artist” and “Take Shelter” leading the pack with 5 nominations apiece, followed by “Drive” and “The Descendants” with four each.

The film Drive, Co-produced by Dodge College alumnus James Smith (BFA.FP/’01), was also nominated in numerous categories, including Best Director and Best Male Lead.
