We are now accepting applications for the spring 2017 Pankey Scholar program. This semester, our talented Pankey Chair is producer
Joyce Cox
. Joyce has produced such mega-hits as THE JUNGLE BOOK and MEN IN BLACK 3, and is the preeminent Visual Effects producer in Hollywood, with credits that include AVATAR, THE DARK KNIGHT, SUPERMAN RETURNS, HARRY POTTER AND THE SORCERER’S STONE, and TITANIC. If selected to participate as a Pankey Scholar, you will have the opportunity to work one-on-one with one of Hollywood’s finest filmmakers.
Applicants must have a work in progress, either a screenplay, a concept in development for an animated or visual effects project, or footage suitable for an episodic form to work on during the semester.
If selected, students will meet individually with Ms. Cox for an hour every other Wednesday (between 2 p.m. and 5:30 p.m).
Applicants selected as Pankey Scholars are required to enroll in
DA 329-01 Digital Arts Industry Insiders (Wednesdays, 7 p.m. – 10 p.m.),
taught by Digital Arts Professor Bill Kroyer and held in the Folino Theater. The class structure provides for a dinner each week with Ms. Cox. Dinner guests will be selected from the registered students on a rotating basis, with the intention of giving every student a chance to attend a dinner at least once. Registered students may also apply to be a Pankey Scholar.
