In conjunction with The Independent Lens, Professor Sally Rubin and fellow filmmaker Jennifer Gilomen's new film Deep Down is receiving outstanding praise since its 2010 debut.
The film explores the southern coal mining industry, documenting the impact of strip mining on the people and landscape of Kentucky.
