Half a dozen of Hollywood's most notable female directors will convene at Dodge College of Film and Media Arts at Chapman University's ninth annual Women in Focus conference April 17. Martha Coolidge ("Valley Girl"), Catherine Hardwicke ("Twilight"), Jocelyn Moorhouse ("A Thousand Acres"), Kimberly Peirce ("Stop-Loss"), Sanaa Hamri ("Something New") and Penelope Spheeris ("Wayne's World") will be the guests of honor.
Chapman University’s Dodge College of Film and Media Arts has secured the No. 4 spot in THE WRAP’s Top 50 film schools rankings. This is the college’s fifth year in a row at No. 4, a position it also holds in The Hollywood Reporter’s national rankings.
The 51st Student Academy Awards were handed out in London, with three Olympic-style medal placements announced in the shorts categories of animations, live-action and documentary. Dodge alum Aaron Johnson ’24, received the Silver Award for his documentary short “The 17 Percent.”
