Feb 22                    Aperture Entertainment, a boutique management/production company, seeks creative interns to start in March/April 2021. Due to Covid-19, this internship will be virtual/remote. Aperture represents an array of clients including actors, writers, and directors. The company is in active production on various features and developing several indies. We’re looking for interns who can work 2-3 days/week for 12+ weeks. Feb 9                      Cultivate Entertainment is seeking an Entertainment Research intern for Spring 2021. CE is a small business where no job is too small for anyone. We are seeking a stellar Intern to join our team to help with research. This will be a hands on, immersive learning opportunity, to witness behind-the-scene deal-making on behalf of clients between Agents/Publicists/Managers and Networks/Studios/Production Companies/Brands. In this role the Intern will regularly convene with the entire team across multiple projects for a minimum of 10 hours per week. The intern will conduct cross-platform research, maintain grids, and provide perspective and insight as it pertains to upcoming releases and pop culture. Their day-to-day will consist of tracking press breaks, monitoring stories from relevant trades, along with scouting other news sources and information outlets for Entertainment research. They will report directly to our CEO, Jen Proctor. This is a paid position.

Feb 18                          Academy Award-nominated director/producer Matia Karrell’s production company, The Red Door Films, is seeking a Colorist Intern to work closely with the Lead Editor, Post-Production Supervisor, and Assistant Editor. This is an unpaid internship for school and IMDb credit. Hours are flexible. This is a great learning experience for those with intermediate coloring skills to grow in their abilities. The Red Door Films is currently working on a documentary, Coming Home: Fight for a Legacy, about the Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP), the often-forgotten women heroes of WWII. This will give you a hands-on understanding of documentary filmmaking, editing, producing, and production management. Feb 2                      Abbot Entertainment seeks part-time, remote script reading intern for its Feature Film Development Internship. This internship program provides film students with second-to-none training in feature film development — namely how to read, judge, and give notes on a screenplay. This includes a thorough education in feature film story mechanics. The student gets exclusive access to 25 current feature projects – each at various stages of development. The program is 13 weeks long and requires approximately 10-12 hours per week. The purpose of the internship is to expose the students to a wide variety of material in order to give them perspective, to train them to think objectively about story, and to teach them how to diagnose specific problems in screenplays using critical frameworks. The workload is similar to that of a difficult 4-credit, university-level course. Vetted by a rigorous committee of all Black readers, four talented students will spend ten weeks over the summer fine-tuning a writing sample with a personalized mentor, attending panels and classes with industry leaders, and learning from the best by shadowing in a writers’ room. Selected students will receive a $5,000 stipend to support a part-time commitment over 10 weeks. Interns are expected to make a 20-hour commitment each week.
