Associate Professor
Roxanne Greitz Miller
, Ed.D. and Donna Ford Attallah Endowed Professor in Teacher Education returns from sabbatical for 2012-2013 academic year.

Miller who began her career as a secondary education science teacher spent last year on sabbatical as a Professor in Residence at a Title I Middle School. In her words, “she wanted to re-immerse and re-acquaint herself on how public schools work and function with the primary goal of experiencing past and current public education practices.” Miller returns with new knowledge derived from last years’ experience and is hoping to share this information on past and current public education policy with her classes and her students. Miller explains, “By reviewing the past and understanding the present, I am hopeful that I can work with my students on how to impact and develop the future of public education.”

Since 2005, Miller has secured over 3 ½ million dollars for her public education research conducted by her undergraduate student research team. Students from all disciplines at Chapman have participated in data analysis, formal classroom observations and grading thousands of writing samples in an effort to learn the broader perspectives of public education.

Miller was recently recognized by Panther Productions as one of the top undergraduate researchers at Chapman.
