On January 10, 2015 the Chapman University Consortium on Patient-Related Outcomes in Athletic Training (PRO-AT) hosted a renowned researcher and electronic medical record (EMR) developer Dr. Cailee Welch from Arizona School of Health Sciences within AT Still University.  The purpose of the professional development workshop was to facilitate the use of the EMR in the clinical settings in which Chapman places Athletic Training Students.  The goal is to have students and preceptors working collaboratively to collect PRO on patients receiving AT services.

Patient-related outcomes are an essential component for demonstrating the value of Athletic Trainers in the secondary school setting.  However, data are needed to show improvements in patients following AT interventions and services.  Using patient documentation, networking, and demonstrating the value of AT services, we hope to change patient care for the better.  In attendance were Chapman AT students and faculty as well as faculty and students from Cypress College, Cal State Fullerton, and California Baptist University.
