Apply to be a Mentor!
April 17, 2015
One commitment that I am most proud of participating in this year is the Libreria Martinez de Chapman University Teen Mentoring Program. This semester I have committed 1.5 hours on Tuesdays to share my experience, offer practical knowledge and support a hand full of high school students from Santa Ana High School.
I am so impressed by these young adults from Santa Ana High School because many of them as freshman have already planned the necessary steps to go to college and become doctors, professional athletes, and leaders in their community. They inspire me to think outside of my bubble at Chapman University.
This organization has shown me just how meaningful it is to take time from my busy schedule to invest time in youth. Apart from the relationships I have built with the mentees, it has also been great to meet a diverse group of Chapman students through this organization. If you are available from 4:30-6pm on Tuesdays, I encourage you to apply to be a mentor for LMDCU. Applications are due May 1, 2015.
