Dr. Jillian Wood has been appointed as the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs at Chapman University’s Attallah College of Educational Studies. Dr. Wood also serves as the Director of Undergraduate Education in the College.

A Chapman Ph.D. alumna, she earned her doctorate in education with an emphasis in leadership studies from Attallah College in 2016, where her dissertation examined equity issues for female faculty in higher education. With a research focus on equity-driven organizations, Dr. Wood is dedicated to creating inclusive environments where employees feel valued and safe. Her work also extends to adult learning theory, where she develops best practices for teaching diverse adult populations, fostering motivation and engagement.

Before returning to Chapman, Dr. Wood taught at California State University, Fullerton, for three years. She has extensive experience in higher education, including roles in administration, budget management, student services, accreditation, admissions, and marketing, both at Chapman’s Attallah College and the Argyros School of Business and Economics.

“Dr. Wood’s dedication to fostering equitable and inclusive environments, combined with her extensive experience in higher education, makes her an invaluable addition to our leadership team,” said Dean Roxanne Greitz Miller. “We are confident that her vision and expertise will enhance the academic experience for our students and faculty alike.”
