Dean nationally recognized for influence on educational practice and policy Margaret Grogan included in RHSU Edu-Scholar Public Influence Rankings
January 16, 2018
Dean Margaret Grogan of the Attallah College of Educational Studies has been recognized as one of the top 200 influencers in education on the RHSU Edu-Scholar Public Influence Rankings for the seventh year in a row. The rankings identify US-based university scholars who are doing the most to shape and guide educational practice and policy in 2018.
To generate the rankings, the 2018 RHSU Selection Committee utilized a scoring rubric to identify “extraordinary public scholar excels in five areas: disciplinary scholarship, policy analysis and popular writing, convening and shepherding collaborations, providing incisive commentary, and speaking in the public square.” The measures for calculating the scores incorporate a range of criteria, including mentions in the education press and mainstream news, scholarly citations, and web presence and social media.
The 2018 rankings include prominent scholars in education, with faculty from Harvard and Stanford topping the list. Begin featured on the list of 200 scholars is a significant accomplishment, as nearly 20,000 university-based faculty in the US qualify for consideration.
“I am honored to once again be listed among such a distinguished group of scholars and educators,” said Dean Grogan.
