Dr. Kimberly A. White-Smith, Ed.D., Associate Dean

Kimberly A. White-Smith, Ed.D. has been invited to join the editorial board of The Journal of Negro Education (JNE), a scholarly refereed journal. JNE was founded at Howard University in 1932 and is one of the oldest continuously published periodicals by and about Black people. The JNE currently has a national and international readership of subscribers including Australia, Bermuda, Canada, England, France, Germany, India, Jamaica, Japan, New Zealand, Poland, Scotland, South Africa, Trinidad and Tobago, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Dr. White-Smith is the Associate Dean for Teacher Education and the Director of the Donna Ford Attallah Academy for Educator Development at Chapman University. She was educated at the University of Southern California (Ed.D. Learning and Instruction), Teachers College, Columbia University (M.A., Curriculum and Instruction) and the University of California at Berkeley (B.A., Psychology with a minor in African American Studies).

She is currently a member of the American Educational Research Association, and Program Chair for Division K, Teaching and Teacher Education. She has also served as past Chair of Professional Development for Division K. Dr. White-Smith is an Associate Professor of Education within the College of Educational Studies.
