Grad School Prep Series
Announced on October 11, 2019
This October, the Attallah College of Educational Studies is partnering with Chapman’s Promising Futures Program (PFP) to offer a Grad School Prep Series. The three-part workshop series is designed to demystify the graduate school application process and connect Chapman’s first-generation (first-gen) college students to fellow colleagues in their respective programs (humanities, leadership, teacher education, health sciences, law, STEM, and business). The workshops will also help them prepare resumes, cover letters, and personal statements for grad school admissions or job applications.
First-gen Chapman students can RSVP to the following events via Handshake, the university’s career development and appointment platform:
- Grad School Prep Series Session 1: Graduate Student Panel and Networking Social
Tuesday, October 15, 7–8:30 pm, Argyros Forum 209C - Grad School Prep Series Session 2: Resume and Cover Letter Writing
Wednesday, October 16, 5:30–7:00 pm, Argyros Forum 201 - Grad School Prep Series Session 3: Personal Statement Writing and Grad App Process
Tuesday, October 22, 5:30–7:00 pm, Argyros Forum 201
The intention is for first-gen students to seek inspiration and leverage support from fellow colleagues to apply, matriculate, and graduate from their respective graduate programs, eventually fostering an environment of transformative change.
