Q&A with Samuel Lee

Fowler Engineering: Tell us about yourself.

Samuel Lee: “I am born and raised in Los Angeles, CA and a first generation college graduate. My undergraduate experience is in human resources and advanced degrees are in higher education, college counseling, and student affairs.”

FE: What are you looking forward to in this new role?

SL: “I am excited to help students further develop themselves in the area of career and professional development. I want to see students find success in creating career strategies and crafting their professional tools to help them prepare for success in the workplace. I look forward to helping students in their development of interpersonal & career skillsets that are not covered in traditional engineering coursework and classroom settings.”

FE: What is the best career advice you’ve received?

SL: “Every experience (whether good or bad) is invaluable knowledge in helping you find what will be fulfilling to you as a person and a professional.”

FE: What advice would you like to share with Fowler Engineering students?

SL: “Be kind to everyone even when it is difficult. You never know who you will work with or for one day.”

FE: What is something you are excited to bring to Fowler Engineering?

SL:  “I am excited to bring my experiences in HR and higher education to tailor programs to the needs of students. I would love to see us (as students, staff, and faculty) buy-in and create a culture and network of support for each other in the classroom and the workplace.”
