We are pleased to announce our 4th annual Chapman University Grand Challenges Initiative Outstanding Research Publication Award by a Grand Challenges Initiative Postdoctoral Fellow. The award is supported by alumni of the Grand Challenges Initiative Postdoctoral Teaching and Research Fellows Program.
The selection committee, which included Drs. Jason Keller (chair), Crystal Ng (Former GCI Fellow), & Aaron Harrison (Former GCI Fellow), evaluated submissions based on their novelty, impact and interdisciplinary thinking.
Dr. Kamal Diki was recognized for his article, entitled “An approach to the Gaussian RBF kernels via Fock spaces,” which appeared in the Journal of Mathematical Physics. The research sits at the interface of mathematics, quantum mechanics and machine learning.
Dr. Diki’s submission was authored in collaboration with Chapman University Professor Daniel Alpay, as well as Fabrizio Colombo and Irene Sabadini from Politecnico di Milano.
Our congratulations to Dr. Diki, and our thanks to each of the post-doctoral fellows who submitted their work.
