At our 2024 GCI Postdoc Showcase, Postdoctoral Fellow Rajeev Joshi presented a poster about enhancing experiences with Braille through 3D-printed models. To learn more about his research, reach out to Dr. Joshi at rajoshi@chapman.edu.
ABSTRACT: In this research, we developed 3D-printed models to determine the optimal specifications, including size, Braille cell spacing, and pin configuration for a novel Braille display design. The main objective of this research is to develop a multifunctional, compact, and cost-effective refreshable Braille display that is capable of displaying Braille characters and simple shapes for educational institutes. The goal is to enhance teaching and learning experiences for individuals with blindness and visual impairment.
